4- and 5-star hotels in Canmore
A shortlist of 4- and 5-star hotels in Canmore, from large resort suites to compact studios, chosen for travellers comparing where to stay in this Bow Valley town. Guest ratings here run from 3.6 to 5.0 out of 5.
Staying in Canmore
Canmore sits in the Bow Valley just east of Banff National Park, so it is not inside the park and no park pass is needed to stay here. That gives the town a different feel from Banff, with more residential areas and a wider range of services. The compact downtown has shops, cafes and restaurants, and several parks line the river. The Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park, built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, offers cross-country skiing and mountain biking trails.
The hotels on this list cluster close to the town centre, most within about 1 km of it, on addresses such as Montane Road, Kananaskis Way, Spring Creek Drive, Lincoln Park, 10th Street and Mountain Street. Copperstone Resort stands furthest out, at 7.9 km, and Platinum Suites on Three Sisters Drive at 2.0 km. Larger multi-bedroom suites suit families and groups, the Malcolm and Grande Rockies appeal to couples and business travellers, and the studios and one-bedroom-style suites work for short breaks.
